After their encounter with an aggressive spirit inside an abandoned house, Rock and Extür go to Jetsam Lake. Extür recognises a familial face, and they also run into a little dragon who is running away from a crazed family member. It is up to Rock, Extür, and Extür's aunt to keep this dragon safe.
I am really proud of this episode. You can see at this point I finally got comfortable drawing Extür. I still struggle with it, yes, but I've finally settled on his design at this point. Admittedly, the child dragon in this episode still has a rough design which I hope to polish better as time goes on. I think the size of the screen I was using and the fact it was done on "Flipnote Studio" doesn't do much in their favor. Rock's design is good, except I was getting weird with his claws at the end. I started drawing this episode back in high school, so I just wanted to get it done.
I also feel like you can tell each character apart from their personalities. Rock is cold, sarcastic, and sardonic at points, sure. But he's also intelligent, protective, and loyal. Extür is more energetic, standoffish, has a sense for justice, but is also still a child. Rock and Extür are definitely growing a dynamic between each other at this point. This episode also points to Extür's family history.
